(jake hardy) holzkopf

"...positively brimming with skewed refusenik attitude...It's the work of Jake Hardy, who, closeted in his Saskatoon home studio, churns out rampant, anarchic, hard-panned, distorted, skittering electronic mayhem, cramming his compositions with the raging abandoned fragments of a million hard disc edits, and imbuing them with the kind of restless mutant life that you'd normally encounter at the wrong end of a nuclear apocalypse..." (Chris Sharp, The Wire, May 2004)

For a producer isolated in the dead centre of the unearthly flat, sub arctic expanse called the Canadian prairies, holzkopf has managed to make a descent footprint in the world of experimental audio. He has toured Canada, sharing bills with performers as diverse as breakbeat extremist Venetian Snares, members of The Exploited, electronica producers like Andrew Duke and Vitaminsforyou as well as noise makers Knurl, Kelly Churko of Hospital, Tim Olive of Nimrod and Emil Beaulieau. Aside from solo work, jake plays electronics with metal terrorists "Adolyne."

He has a geeky my space site and so does Adolyne.

"this music is a disease, but not one we made"

for now lets just say: beating out the ghosts of punk rock...beacuse it wasn't killed by pop punk bastards...it was stabbed with pins, its spirit sewn and sealed up under patches: its energy contained and beaten down by fascists with DIY haircuts faking open mindedness and labeling themselves hardcore.

a sermon, eulogy and expression of hatred.
