Hailing from Saskatoon, SK, in the heart of the Canadian prairies, JUNO and Polaris Prize award nominees Shooting Guns are hard at work fortifying the heavy end of the psychedelic spectrum, haunting the foggy moor between Sabbath-styled doom riffery and heavy pulse-riding kraut-rock.

SG has released 14 vinyl projects through Pre-Rock Records (PRR) since 2011 and following their first soundtrack release in 2014 (WolfCop Original Soundtrack - 2015 WCMA Award for Metal/Heavy Recording of the Year), the band has been steadily releasing studio album and soundtrack material. Shooting Guns recent releases include studio albums, EPs, remixes, and soundtracks: Club Mosaic: Remixed and Refitted (2020 - PRR); Sports Drink EP (2019 - PRR/Riot Season); Nosferatu Live Score (2018 - PRR/Cardinal Fuzz); Another WolfCop OST (2018 - PRR/One Way Static); Flavour Country (2017 - RidingEasy).

The band's sophomore LP, Brotherhood of the Ram, was nominated for the 2015 JUNO Metal/Hard Album of the Year as well as the Polaris Music Prize. Their debut LP, Born To Deal in Magic: 1952-1976, was also nominated for the Polaris Music Prize in 2012.

Nosferatu Live Score
CFUL092 (2018)

$20 LP | $10 Digital Album

"A remarkable ninety minutes of music that you can just let go to, you become oblivious to what’s going on around you… yet this is not always a congenial listen, do not just go into it expecting to be cajoled. Instead approach it as you would a film, to subject yourself to the experience that the music brings… be panoramic in your thinking. Do this and ‘Nosferatu’ will pay you back many times over and, I suspect, in different ways with every listen."
- Simon Smith, Psych Insight

Another WolfCop OST
OWS25 (2018)

$20 LP | $7 Digital Album

"The Another WolfCop OST sees the band’s most ambitious recording to date, incorporating a wide range of influences and instruments to expand on the WolfCop universe and take this nail-biting, action-packed film over the edge."
- Light in the Attic

Flavour Country
EZRDR078 (2017)

"Shooting Guns take us on a beautiful journey through a wide spectrum of sound, where any of us will love to lose ourselves. Highly recommended."

"Instrumental party machines Shooting Guns are at it again, and this time the Saskatoon desertrockers have brought friends ZAUM in on the act. A fitting counterpoint to Shooting Guns’ unassuming earthiness, New Brunswick-based ZAUM brings their Yeti-hunt to life with a beguiling combination of melodic charisma and supernatural physicality."
- Christine LC, BeatRoute, Calgary, AB

2015 Metal Recording of the Year
Locked in their studio during a -50 cold spell during one of Canada's harshest winters on record, Shooting Guns gave themselves a crash course in composition and enlisted the talents of Toby Bond to create a cinematic score locked to every second of this action packed party movie. Not only is this the loudest album that the band has released yet, it's their first movie score soundtrack, first concept album, and it features more guitar solos than all their previous work combined.

Recorded by Shooting Guns at Pre-Rock Studios (Saskatoon, SK), mixed by SJ Kardash at Full Color Studios (Saskatoon, SK), and mastered by John McBain (San Francisco, CA). Cover art by Randy Ortiz.
