Sturgis Trash

Sturgis Trash began collaborating their musical thoughts and ideas in a lonely little basement on 413 5th street within the city known as Saskatoon, Saskatchewn, Canada. Their collective creative effort began in 2000 and has carried them all across Western Canada over the past five years. Sturgis Trash has performed at over 100 different venues with various unique and talented artists. Notable shows include Ashley MacIsaac, King Cobb Steelie, Kyle Riabko, The Marble Index and The Trews. Sturgis Trash also headlined Friday Night at the 2003 Ness Creek Music Festival for a crowd of 2000 plus people.

The entrance of Sturgis Trash in the recording arena began with an EP release entitled Locked Away. The recording encapsulates the primitive heart and soul of the band but foreshadows the future with a base science of Sturgis Trash compositions. A second full-length record was released in Novemeber 2003 entitled Able Was I Ere I Saw Elba. Sturgis Trash has just recently (Oct. 28th, 2005) released a four song live EP entitled, "Live at Lydia's".

Sturgis Trash recordings have recently been selected for three different compilation albums: Nessessentials, which includes over 30 artists who have performed at the Ness Creek Music Festival throughout the past twelve years; Stories from the Bridge City, a collection of current local Saskatoon musicians who exuberate exceptional talent and creativity in music; and TEA Volume Six, which is scheduled to be released in January of 2006 by Toronto Experimental Artists. The TEA compilation is focused upon exposing up and coming artists and their recordings in various medias, especially radio broadcast, internet radio and international radio music promotion.

The Strugis Trash live show colaborates duelling drum kits, throaty vocal lines, driving guitar riffs, supreme bass tones, live audio sampling, and even the odd saxophone lick. High energy and intensity delivered through live show and sound produces something which can only be defined as Sturgis Trash.
